How many players do I need?
Between 5 and 12. Five is the floor because the game needs enough police for voting to carry meaning. In our experience the best rhythm sits between seven and nine players — enough people for real discussion without rounds dragging.
Is the game free?
Yes. PLOT is completely free and runs in the browser. No account, no download, no app to install.
Do I need to register?
No. You type a name, then create a room or join an existing one. Your name is remembered in your own browser so you do not have to retype it next time, and you can change it whenever you like.
How do I invite friends?
Create a room and you get a five-character code like AB123 plus a direct link. Send either one: the link drops them straight into the room, and the code can be typed on the join screen.
What if we are short on players?
The host can add bots to fill the empty seats. Bots play sensibly but they do not discuss and they do not lie, so they are useful for learning the rules or testing a room. The real pleasure of PLOT is the argument between humans.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The interface is built for phones and desktops alike, and you can play from a mobile browser with no app. Some of your group can be on phones and others on laptops in the same match.
I got disconnected — did I lose?
No. Reopen the link and you will be returned to your seat with the same role. The server holds the room state, and even a server restart does not cancel matches in progress.
What languages are supported?
Arabic, English and Turkish. On your first visit the language is picked from your browser settings; you can change it from the language button at the top of the page, and your choice is remembered afterwards.
Can I remove a player?
The host can. A kick in the waiting room simply removes them, but a kick during a match counts as an execution and affects the result — if the kicked player was the last spy, the police win.
Can I see my past matches?
Yes. The home page has a match-history search by name that lists the matches you took part in and how each one ended.
Can we replay with the same group?
Yes. At the end of a match the host gets a button to start a fresh game with the same players, with no need to create a new room or resend the code.
What is the difference between the spy and the assistant?
They win together, but executing the spy ends the match in the police's favour while executing the assistant does not. The assistant knows who the spy is, and the spy knows their assistant too.
Is there a veto power?
No, it was removed in this version to simplify the card flow. The "choose the next president" option was removed as well, so red #3 is now purely a deck peek.
I found a problem, or I have a suggestion
Get in touch through the contact page. If it concerns a specific match, include the room code, the number of players, and what happened in detail.
